The Central Texas Council of Governments will host LEADERSHIP CENTRAL TEXAS 2020! Training will be held one day each month during summer of 2020 June 18, July 16, and August 20, 2020 9:00 am – 4:00 pm Applicants should be ONE of the following: 1. Citizens demonstrating a desire to serve in a leadership role. 2. Completed a local leadership program in his or her community or is currently enrolled. 3. Be a past/present elected official of his/her community, region or state. Class Objectives: 1. Highlight opportunities for public service. 2. Develop an understanding of the characteristics and skills necessary to assume a leadership role in local and regional community boards and activities. 3. Develop relationships across the Central Texas Council of Governments Region. 4. Promote awareness of regional social services, infrastructure and economic development. The purpose of Leadership Central Texas is to identify and develop regional leaders, who lives or works with the seven county-region served by the Central Texas Council of Governments, and to promote awareness of regional/state leadership opportunities. Topics are taught with active participation from leaders on regional boards. Each certified attendee will be encouraged to identify leadership opportunities where their individual talents would best be applied to insure the growth and future well-being of our Central Texas Region.
