On October 8, the Chamber joined community partners and community members to celebrate the completion of the Santa Fe Plaza and the revitalization of Downtown Temple. There were tours of the buildings, food trucks, music and performances by the Temple High School Cheerleaders and Dance Team! The Santa Fe Plaza was a $30 million redevelopment as part of City of Temple, Texas - City Government's Downtown Master Plan. The Plaza includes green space, a water feature and is part of the Santa Fe Market Trail. The trail is a pedestrian path that connects Whistle Stop Park to the east via improvements under the 3rd Street Bridge to the new MLK Festival Fields. The backdrop of the Plaza is the historic Santa Fe Depot, which is flanked by the new Santa Fe Business Center and Temple Independent School District's new administration building. The Santa Fe Business Center is home to the Temple Chamber of Commerce, Temple Economic Development Corporation and Workforce Solutions of Central Texas.
