The Temple Main Street Program will host a reception this Friday, September 13th, to welcome the arrival of a new photography exhibit entitled, Temple’s History – Expressions by Local Photographers. The reception will take place from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the Temple Railroad & Heritage Museum located at 315 W. Avenue B in downtown Temple. The exhibit is comprised of the forty-six framed photographs that were submitted as entries in the Temple Architectural Appreciation Photography Contest held in May, and provides a great representation of Temple’s beautiful architectural heritage. The photo contest was held as part of Temple’s community observance of National Preservation Month. This community education initiative of the National Historic Trust and the Texas Historical Commission is designed to draw public attention to the importance of preserving historic buildings. Prior to arriving at the Railroad & Heritage Museum, this photography exhibit has been on display at the Czech Heritage Museum and the Bell County Museum.Temple’s History – Expressions by Local Photographers will be on display through October.
