In an effort to reduce pollution in our run-off water, here are a few tips: select less toxic alternative chemicals commonly used around the home and non-toxic wherever possible; use only the amount needed, more is not always better; pouring chemicals down the drain contaminates, save these leftover chemicals for proper disposal; do not pour unwanted chemicals on the ground; clean up pet waste from the lawn, recycle used oil and antifreeze and promote environmental education. Everyone’s efforts will help protect our drinking water and our environment. SAVE THE DATE – The annual Household Hazardous Waste collection event is scheduled for Saturday, October 12 from 9a-2p at the Temple Service Center.
