Social media is always in a state of flux. Change can be anything from new features on existing platforms or the creation of a completely new platform. It’s important that businesses stay ahead of the game to stay ahead of the competition. 2019 is all about visuals and it’s imperative that businesses have a video strategy. Video builds brand awareness, builds customer rapport with the business, it helps to convert viewers into customers, and it helps a company’s SEO. But the biggest challenge with video is what to post. Here are a few types of video and a few ideas for implementation.
• The first type is live video. Most people know this as “live streaming” content on social media channels like Facebook and Youtube but almost all major platforms have a live streaming option. Going live is fun and engaging and it gives the viewer an inside look at a business brand. The minimum needed is a smartphone and possibly a tripod. Some examples are live webinars, Q&As, seminars, sneak peeks at upcoming sales or products, and product introduction.
• Tutorials and explainers both make an effective type of video content. While tutorials are a great way for a business to show off their skill or product, explainers explain the business product or service. Tutorials can also serve as evergreen content, content that an audience turns to again and again. Both can also be reused as future content.
• Q&A videos are a great format to quickly address and answer customer questions. Use submitted customer inquiries or come up with the most frequently asked questions and address those in the video. Q&As are a great way to build credibility while serving an actual purpose. They give a company a great opportunity to build a library of quality video content related to their brand.
Creating video content will strengthen a company’s social media marketing strategy and will help to increase brand awareness. Focus on creating content that an audience will find useful and ones they will want to share.
