MEDIA RELEASE Temple hires public relations specialist Alejandra Arreguin brings years of media experience to role Temple, TX (Oct. 21, 2020) -- The City of Temple hired Alejandra Arreguin as its new public relations specialist. Arreguin will be responsible for all Temple Police media relations and community relations efforts. “Alejandra’s experience with media and sharing news with the community will only improve communication from and with our public safety divisions,” PR Manager Emily Parks said. “She comes highly recommended and I’m very excited about the skillset she brings to our city.” In her role, Arreguin will work to develop and improve the police department’s engagement and communication efforts in the city. “I’m thrilled to join the City of Temple and work closely with the police department,” Arreguin said. “This position will allow me to provide to our citizens the necessary information and sense of transparency about our department’s work.” Arreguin has three years’ experience in journalism, having most recently served as morning news producer for KWTX in Waco. Prior to that, she served as evening news producer for KTXS in Abilene. Arreguin earned her bachelor’s degree in communications and her master’s degree in communication studies, both from Tarleton State University. Arreguin’s hire rounds out the city’s public relations team, which includes manager Emily Parks and public relations coordinator Cody Weems, who was promoted to his new position in October. The team will oversee public relations and assist with community engagement efforts for the city, police and fire departments.
