A&M-Central Texas is the 11th of 12 universities in The Texas A&M University System, one of the largest and highly ranked university systems in the United States. Each of the Texas A&M University System’s regional universities is unique in its own way; for A&M-Central Texas, that means we celebrate our mission as a transfer-level university undergraduate and graduate programs in arts and sciences, business administration, and education.
A&M-Central Texas offers 28 bachelor’s degrees (six of which are completely online) and 18 graduate degrees (four of which are completely online). Our admissions policies are purposefully encouraging, requiring a 2.0 GPA and a minimum of 30 hours of college level coursework. Our programs have been recognized and ranked as among The Top 10% of the most diverse student populations in the U.S. and Texas. Criminal Justice, Business, Human Resources, CIS, and Psychology have been ranked by U.S. News & World Report, College Factual, and BestSchools/BestColleges.
Our students represent a number of diverse communities; in fact, A&M-Central Texas is the most broadly diverse regional university in The Texas A&M University System. The majority of our students are employed, raising a family, active in their communities, and committed to the pursuit of their degree. Almost 1 of every 2 students is military affiliated, having completed careers in military service, or are a spouse or family member of active or retired military.
Ninety-seven (97%) of our faculty have an earned doctorate (or equivalent), are experienced scholars in their discipline, and have ‘real world’ experience within their chosen profession. This combination of experience, skill, and intellect enhances traditional curricula with innovative principles and opportunities for community service. At A&M-Central Texas, we want our communities to know that a high quality degree can also be affordable. Our average tuition and fees rank as the second lowest among public universities in the State of Texas. As an added bonus, A&M-Central Texas also offers two more ways to save: (1) a ‘tuition guarantee’ that allows students to “lock in” their tuition and fees, and (2) a ‘tuition cap’ that allows students to take between 12-21 credit hours without incurring additional tuition charges (specific rules apply).
