On Tuesday morning, December 13, 2018, a short ceremony was held inside the Collaboration Center at the new Temple Chamber of Commerce office at the Santa Fe Business Center on the occasion of its naming in honor of McLane Intelligent Solutions. McLane Intelligent Solutions was instrumental in helping the Chamber move technology forward with the Santa Fe Business Center project. The ceremony was led by Dana Lange, 2018 Chair of the Board, and Rod Henry, President of the Temple Chamber of Commerce, who unveiled a plaque that designates the room as the McLane Intelligent Solutions Collaboration Center. Jay Battershell, President of McLane Intelligent Solutions, said “think about McLane and the word collaboration, it’s kind of like peanut butter and jelly,” when given the floor during the ceremony. He continued, “Drayton (McLane Jr.) challenges us every day to drive technology to enable our customers to do more and more things and to grow. We were very excited about being a part of the Santa Fe Business Center project with the Chamber and the Economic Development Corporation.” The Santa Fe Business Center is a new 34,000-square-foot office building in Downtown Temple. The project is a partnership between the Temple Chamber of Commerce and Temple Economic Development Corporation with Workforce Solutions of Central Texas occupying the facility as a tenant. The McLane Intelligent Solutions Collaboration Center is a meeting and event space with floor-to-ceiling windows, Wi-Fi, charging stations, and sliding doors that open to the Santa Fe Plaza, which is currently under construction. Rod Henry noted, “this space brings a new level of business service to our membership and our downtown. Imagine needing Wi-Fi or a charge between meetings, or better yet, sliding the doors open to the Santa Fe Plaza for a social event…this elevates the Santa Fe Business Center and Temple, TX.”
